Aquaman added to Justice League Heroes roster

Greatest news ever or merely a ploy to get all you in-the-closet Aquaman fans to buy the upcoming Justice League Heroes game? Hmm, we'll have to see about that. Nevertheless, we just got word that everyone's favorite fish man in green tights will be making a fabulous appearance in Heroes, which is slated to hit the PS2, Xbox, PSP, GBA and DS sometime this fall.

Included as an unlockable character, Aquaman joins Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Martian Manhunter, Zatanna and the previously announced unlockable Green Arrow in the fight against baddies. For those quick to dismiss Aquaman's worth on dry land, his character in Heroes will have the ability to create a whirlpool (temporary water whirlwind that traps enemies), use the sword of Atlantis and protect himself using a water shield.

The whirlpool attack actually does no damage and causes enemies to say, "Ah, how refreshing!" or "Wheeee!"

Give Aquaman some freakin respect. He's an awesome hero, and does a lot more than talk to fish.

First, he commands any sea creature, including giant krakens, loch ness monsters, or any mythical beast you can think of. Second, he is a very powerful telepath, able to read other's minds and command non-aquatic life to an extent. Third he is strong and tough enough to survive the pressures at the bottom of the sea. He could easily lift a tank and bullets would bounce off his skin. Fourth, he is incredibly bad-ass, so bad-ass he cut off his own damn hand in order to save his son. Fifth, he can swim at speeds over 1000 knots.

Aquaman could kick most heroes asses up and down the curb.

For some reason, nobody respects Aquaman, maybe because he is an asshole, really, nobody in the JLA likes him.

But it's good to know that someone still likes him enough to put him into a game, and looks like he's wearing his classic costume with short hair.

Aquaman is the worst hero ever! Let's try a scenario...

I'm getting robbed at knifepoint because I'm weak, but that's besides the point. Aquaman hears me yell for help and comes to my aid, or so he thinks. When he realizes the robber has a knife, the best he can do is call upon sea turtles, because fish, sharks, and the like can't go on land. So the turtles take hours making their way up to the beach. By the time they get there I've been robbed, applied for a loan, bought a house, got married, and had three kids that I bricked into the basement wall. Aquaman can't do shit about that either.

The problem is that they keep calling him Aquaman. He hates the name (given to him by the media) and prefers to be called "Arthur" instead. He is quite tough, and could probably give Superman a run for his money in a fair fight (no kryptonite, no throwing Aquaman into the sun, etc.) - I'm not saying he'd WIN, but he'd certainly give Supes a few good shots before it was over.

Adding stupid powers to his character in this game makes me not interested, though. Why can't anyone represent Arthur correctly in games or TV shows?

Jeez... Even fricking STEEL and Blue Beetle get more respect in other forms of media.

Aquaman is also one of the world's foremost fighters. He could easily go toe to toe with Batman and win(if Batman did not have his gimmicks with him), he wouldn't have any trouble taking out some punk with a knife.

Wow, Aquaman... so impressed. I must be honest, Aquaman is really not that interesting of a character. The proposed TV show based on the character would have failed miserably, which is why the show was pulled.

I'd rather have the Teen Titans as unlockable.

Aquaman is ten times the hero that Namor is and second of all he is definitely not a liberal, more of a fascist really. he beat Namors ass badly in Dc vs marvel and he is a tellapath who can not omly talkt to fish but commands all sea creatures including sea gulls . how would you like to be pecked to death by a thousand of them. and if his new hand gives him command over water then imagine hime draining all the water from your 70% water bodie. i'm pretty sure he can make it in the dessert. and definately deserves some respect
